The use of so-called “medical marijuana” has become increasingly prevalent in the United States. It has also blossomed into a growing cottage industry. Marijuana has been legal in several countries for medical use since the early 1990‘s. The first U.S. state to legalize marijuana for medical use was, not surprisingly, California in 1996.
